The bicycle was first introduced in Europe in the 19th century, and introduced to the U.S.A. shortly afterwards. There are numerous benefits to cycling, the principal one being a health issue, reducing the risk of heart disease. A study of over 10,000 people found that those who cycle 20 miles or more a week, are less likely to have Heart problems. The risk of Heart attack is reduced by 50%. Doctors say that to benefit from exercise, you should maintain your heart rate at an elevated level for at least 20 minutes, this can be achieved by cycling.
